Altruist to Launch Groundbreaking Direct Indexing Offering for Financial Advisors, Elevating Model Marketplace With New Strategist Suite

  • Financial advisors will be able to help retail investors access direct indexing (DI) with as little as $2,000—a radical entry point considering $250,000 is the typical industry minimum
  • New offering signifies Altruist’s commitment to making financial advice more accessible and affordable through its platform and Model Marketplace advancements

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Altruist, an all-in-one custodial solution for modern financial advisors, announces plans to release the Altruist Strategist Suite (Strategist) in Q2 2022. This will be the second Altruist-generated model portfolio suite in its Model Marketplace and the first to include direct indexing (DI). Made possible by fractional shares on the Altruist platform, advisors will be able to help clients access DI with as little as $2,000–a groundbreaking entry point considering that $250,000 is the typical minimum to access DI elsewhere.

“This new offering is a major step forward in Altruist’s mission,” said Adam Grealish, Altruist’s Head of Investments. “DI is quickly gaining traction, and it represents the future of investment vehicles. By vertically integrating DI and combining it with our fractional share capabilities, we’re making it radically more affordable and accessible for advisors and their clients.”

Strategist is Altruist’s flagship portfolio suite, which will provide exposure to global stock and bond markets across a series of risk levels. Strategist uses DI for its U.S. large-cap stock allocation, basing its weights on the 500 largest U.S. stocks. The portfolios will also be available in a tax-aware version, designed with special consideration for the taxable investor. Advisors using Strategist can access a full support suite of methodology, analysis, and other collateral resources.

“Advisors should have everything they need to provide their clients the best financial advice possible,” said Jason Wenk, Altruist’s founder and CEO. “As a partner to advisors, we believe in implementing solutions that help them stay ahead of the curve in all facets of their practice. The Altruist Model Marketplace is one avenue to make that happen. Strategist will give advisors access to cutting-edge investment approaches that can significantly benefit their clients.”

Altruist integrates brokerage services and essential practice management software (including the Model Marketplace) into a single digitally-native platform. Advisors can open and fund accounts, invest, manage, report, and bill all in one place. Launched in early 2021 and since expanded, Altruist’s Model Marketplace features portfolios from marquee brands (including Redwood Investment Management and State Street Global Advisors), the Altruist Simplicity series (a free set of models), and now Strategist.

Register to join Altruist on May 25 at 9:30 a.m. PT (12:30 p.m. ET) for a live discussion about the vision behind Altruist’s Model Marketplace, Strategist, and an exploration of direct indexing.
