NAPPANEE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ATC, an industry-leading manufacturer of aluminum RVs and trailers, today released its inaugural list of Top 10 Underrated National Parks to Visit. In a 2022 survey of more than 750 campers across the U.S., ATC identified lesser-known national park destinations that avid campers count among their favorites.

The Top 10 list was curated from survey results, excluding the most famous, exceptionally popular parks that regularly experience overcrowding, such as Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon. Traveling to “underrated,” less-populated parks provide visitors a more secluded outdoor experience and helps reduce the environmental strain on the nation’s most visited areas.

According to the National Park Service, in 2021, of the 423 parks in the National Park System, 25 (6%) received more than 50% of the system’s total 297.1 million recreation visits. With the top 25 national parks becoming increasingly overcrowded, the recent ATC survey revealed alternatives for Americans to enjoy the outdoors and support beautiful, less-visited parks.

1. Mount Rainier National Park – Washington
2. Canyonlands National Park – Utah
3. Voyageurs National Park – Minnesota
4. Cuyahoga Valley National Park – Ohio
5. Shenandoah National Park – Virginia
6. Mammoth Cave National Park – Kentucky
7. Everglades National Park – Florida
8. Big Bend National Park – Texas
9. Joshua Tree National Park – California
10. Kings Canyon National Park – California

“At ATC we make RVs built for adventure and always encourage our community to take full advantage of the countless diverse natural environments across country,” said Kathy Adams, Chief Commercial Officer at ATC. “During National Park Week, we’re bringing attention to the many areas made accessible to us by the National Park Service that aren’t as frequented.”

ATC manufactures RVs with premium quality aluminum construction and an industry-first configurable track system. As of 2022, ATC has prioritized mobile sustainability more than ever before, incorporating a 200-watt solar panel on all its Game Changer and Game Changer PRO Series toy haulers. Solar panels help extend battery life and serve as a dependable backup when in areas without campsite hookups or without a generator.
