Orthopedic Care Partners Adds Physician Practice and Clinic Location to its Missouri-Based Motion Orthopaedics Platform and Hires Seven Surgeons Across Arizona, Colorado and Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Orthopedic Care Partners (OCP), a strategic partner and support organization for top-performing orthopedic practices currently comprised of The Orthopaedic Institute (FL), The Steadman Clinic (CO), Motion Orthopaedics (MO), Tucson Orthopaedic Institute (AZ), and other leading affiliated practices, today announced two recent, impactful developments to the Motion Orthopaedics platform: the addition of the physician practice of Dr. Luke Choi, a preeminent St. Louis-based orthopedic surgeon, who joined Motion Orthopaedics’ primary location in St. Louis; and, the opening of its new, state-of-the-art facility in Wentzville, MO, which represents a new clinic location, imaging center and surgery center.

Rich Gilbert, M.D., CEO of OCP stated, “The Motion platform is growing rapidly in terms of both its physician partnerships and physical footprint, and the additions of Dr. Choi and our Wentzville location have helped continue that momentum. With his recognized brand and strong reputation throughout the local and medical communities, the partnership with Dr. Choi aligns with our mission to expand the platform with only the best-in-class physicians and practices, while the opening of our new facility directly bolsters the level of services and accessibility we can offer patients.”

Dr. Choi also noted, “In addition to its impressive growth, Motion Orthopaedics has access to unparalleled resources, and I am pleased to be part of an innovative, forward-thinking group of providers working to expand and advance the care options available to our communities.”

Dr. Choi joined Motion Orthopaedics in October of 2021 after spending almost six years at The Orthopedic Center of St. Louis. Specializing in shoulder surgery, he has also worked extensively with professional sports teams across Missouri and the Northeast. Dr. Choi was previously identified as an Emerging Leader by the American Orthopedic Association (AOA) and was one of 15 individuals selected nationally for participation in the Clinician-Scientist Development Program sponsored by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF), and Orthopedic Research Society (ORS).

On top of the partnership with Dr. Choi, OCP is also pleased to announce the addition of seven orthopedic surgeons to its expanding network of physicians. Dr. Brianna Patti, a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon, joined Tucson Orthopaedic Institute in December 2021 while Dr. Michael Gallizzi, a specialist in minimally invasive, robotic and endoscopic adult spinal surgery, joined The Steadman Clinic in March 2022. The following five additional surgeons have also joined The Orthopaedic Institute in Gainesville, Florida since the fall of 2021:

  • Dr. Daniel Lombardo, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon focused on hip and knee surgery
  • Dr. Michael Silverstein, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon focused on spine procedures
  • Dr. Harrison Mahon, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon focused on joint replacement and sports medicine
  • Dr. Robert O’Connor, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon focused on orthopedic trauma
