Thermo Fisher Scientific Recognized for Contract Manufacturing Leadership

Pharma and biotech customers distinguish excellence in capabilities, expertise, quality, compatibility, reliability and service

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the third consecutive year, Thermo Fisher Scientific’s pharma and biopharma customers recognized its contract manufacturing leadership in all six categories of the 11th Annual CMO Leadership awards.

The annual honors, presented by Life Science Leader and Outsourced Pharma, spotlight excellence in Capabilities, Expertise, Quality, Compatibility, Reliability and Service. The customers evaluated 86 companies across 23 performance metrics.

"Patients worldwide need treatments sooner than ever so we need to exceed our customers’ expectations every day,” said Mike Shafer, senior vice president and president, pharma services, Thermo Fisher Scientific. “We’re grateful that the innovators we serve value the progress we’re making toward that goal.”

This is Thermo Fisher’s ninth straight year being recognized by the CMO Leadership Awards, which distinguish top contract manufacturing organizations each year by surveying leading global pharma and biotech companies. That research, based on the Contract Manufacturing Quality Benchmarking conducted by Industry Standard Research (ISR), involved customers of all sizes that worked with the organizations during the past 18 months.

“For nearly a decade, the CMO Leadership Awards have recognized our industry’s top service providers – CDMOs that have remained steadfast partners to pharma and biopharma companies,” said Louis Garguilo, Chief Editor, Outsourced Pharma. “These awards have proven most meaningful for biopharma organizations striving to obtain optimal outcomes from their outsourcing activities. Our research arm, Industry Standard Research (ISR), which only surveys drug sponsors who have worked recently with specific CDMOs, ensures the validity of these results.”
