Immervision Launches Universal Web Video Dewarping

Immervision’s web-based SDK allows for dewarping of its controlled distortion Panomorph lenses and traditional fisheye lenses in web and cloud applications.

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Immervision, the world’s leading developer of advanced vision systems combining optics, image processing, and sensor fusion technology, launches its universal web video dewarping, which takes videos and images from wide-angle security cameras, body worn cameras or other 360-degree devices and allows users to view them in various layouts on any web and cloud-based applications without distortion.

For the first time, Immervision is making its industry-leading dewarping SDK available in a HTML 5 version aimed at web and cloud-based applications. Available for use with Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and other browsers, the SDK supports dewarping of both Immervision’s controlled distortion Panomorph lenses and traditional fisheye lenses, as well as data-in-picture, and field-of-view stabilization. With this SDK all the processing is performed in the web browser, eliminating the need for an application to be installed on the client devices, offering increased convenience for end users with no compromise on performance. The SDK supports live video, recorded video, and still images.

“Traditionally, dewarping software has run on premise as part of the VMS client application, requiring specific hardware and software installation, or directly on cameras, limiting the user experience,” explains Patrice Roulet, Vice President, Technology and Co-Founder at Immervision. “With the rise of Cloud based video-surveillance, we noticed an increased customer demand for an easy-to-use multiplatform dewarping and 360° navigation enabled on multiple web browsers with no specific installation required.”

Immervision’s award-winning web-based, multiplatform video dewarping supports over 30 camera brands in various views and layouts, with more being added.

This solution is ideal for professional and home security management applications, cloud-based and thin clients video management solutions, as well as cameras and NVR web interfaces.

Key Features:

  • Plug-in free (no installation required for the end-user)
  • Performance (leveraging device hardware acceleration (GPU enabled))
