FBB’s Director of Research Publishes Debut Book on Applying Behavioral Finance Concepts to Investing

Michael Bailey discusses how to identify personal biases and avoid investing mistakes in “Stop. Think. Invest.” Now available in print, e-book and audiobook

BETHESDA, Md.--()--The study of behavioral finance continues to gain traction as a leading indicator of investor activity and performance, creating a heightened need for the identification of personal biases and underlying motivations when it comes to managing money. FBB Capital Partners, a registered investment adviser that serves the wealth management needs of affluent individuals, families, foundations and endowments, director of research, Michael Bailey, has published his debut book, “Stop. Think. Invest” exploring these concepts.

In the book, Bailey provides readers with an action plan for trading and investing, starting with initial research on potential stock selections and continuing through performance and fundamental evaluation following purchase. An industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in asset management, Bailey has spent his career studying investment techniques and behavioral finance literature in order to craft an effective approach to long-term investing. His expertise as a financial analyst helps provide readers with critical insight and digestible methods, whether they are asset managers, financial advisors or retail investors.

“Behavioral finance is an academic and real world field that has been evolving for decades,” shared Bailey. “This book offers a compilation of the strategies that have proven successful in my career, while debunking theories that may fall flat. ‘Stop. Think. Invest.’ stands on the shoulders of many financial professionals I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years, who have demonstrated the power of understanding bias, emotion and behavioral finance, paving the way for others to be more successful with their investment practices.”

“We are incredibly honored to have someone so passionate about the discipline of behavioral finance providing our clients with a time-tested strategy,” added Michael Mussio, president of FBB Capital Partners. “The publication of ‘Stop. Think. Invest.’ underscores Mike’s ongoing commitment to being a thoughtful steward of client assets.”
