  • Following Successful Launch in 2021, SBOS Enters New Chapter with Seven-Week Curriculum Focused on Fundraising From Seed to IPO
  • Program to Feature SoftBank Group Portfolio Company Executives and Operational Experts

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SoftBank Group’s Operator School “SBOS” will resume on Feb. 24, 2022, with a seven-week program designed to equip startup founders and operators with the skills they need to build and manage technology startups in South Florida, Latin America and beyond, this time focusing on fundraising from seed to IPO. This year’s program follows a highly successful launch in 2021, in partnership with Florida International University, Miami Dade College and the University of Miami, where over 5,000 registrants from 50 countries attended the classes, and thousands more watched the lessons on-demand.

Operator School is part of SoftBank Group’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a new generation of diverse tech talent and complements the exclusive operating content that the SoftBank Latin America Fund provides its founders. The curriculum provides participants with a deep understanding of tech startup operations, the venture capital ecosystem, and the various ways to add value in the tech industry.

The program will feature an online master class speaker series focused on venture capital and startup fundraising, which will be hosted remotely by Laura Gaviria Halaby, head of ecosystem development and crypto value creation for SoftBank Group International, and available to the general public online. Topics will include: Introduction to Venture Capital, Startup Valuation, Fundraising Process, Pitching, Term Sheets, Deal Negotiation, Board Management, and Growth Venture Capital.

Confirmed speakers include SoftBank Latin America Fund Managing Partner Paulo Passoni, SoftBank Group International Managing Partner and CHRO Francisco Sorrentino, SoftBank Latin America Fund Early Stage Managing Partner Rodrigo Baer, Olist Founder and CEO Tiago Dalvi, VTEX Founder and Co-CEO Geraldo Thomaz, and Pipefy Founder and CEO Alessio Alionco.

“Our vision for the SoftBank Group Operator School is to continue delivering content that can help accelerate tech startups’ growth in Latin America, South Florida and around the world,” Gaviria Halaby said. “We know the importance for entrepreneurs and operators to learn from each other, and SBOS is the ideal platform to do that. We are excited to launch the new edition of SBOS with a curriculum that is meant to inspire and teach the next generation of tech operators how to thrive and make an impact.”
