CAGW Releases Issue Brief on the Future of American Aerospace

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) released a new Issue Brief, “The Future of American Aerospace,” co-authored by CAGW President Tom Schatz and CAGW Director of Policy and Research Sean Kennedy, which details how the shift in U.S. space policy opens up opportunities for new innovative companies and has resulted in increased competition and significant savings for taxpayers.

Tom Schatz and Sean Kennedy issued the following statement:

“For most of its history, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration relied on a handful of entrenched contractors, leading to inflated costs and stagnant technology. However, a new emphasis on partnering with innovative private sector firms has boosted the agency’s capacity while dramatically lowering costs. This increased privatization of research and exploration represents the new backbone of American aerospace. It also serves as a model for government-wide federal acquisition policy. This Issue Brief is a must-read as it gives an in-depth look at the future of American aerospace.”

CAGW is the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.
