Praxis by Landmark Recovery Brings Medicaid Addiction Treatment Options to the Firelands

CLEVELAND--()--Praxis by Landmark Recovery will bring much needed addiction treatment services to the Ohio community this week by opening the doors to its new Medicaid addiction treatment center, Praxis of the Firelands.

“The influx of fentanyl and methamphetamine in the market has unfortunately created significant demand for addiction treatment services,” said Matt Boyle, the chief executive officer of Landmark Recovery. “By providing services for those with Medicaid, we hope to combat the increase in deaths due to overdose.”

The Center for Disease Control reported more than 100,000 deaths due to overdose nationwide in 2021, with Ohio seeing more than 5,000 deaths due to overdose, a ten percent increase over the previous year.

“We are here to support the community, making sure everyone who needs help has access to get the treatment they deserve,” said Monica Crimmins, executive director of Praxis of the Firelands.

The 48-bed facility provides dual diagnostic care with on-site medical detox, inpatient rehabilitation services, and partial hospitalization. Praxis offers double the hours of therapy compared to the national average and employs a staff of masters level clinicians to guide patients on their recovery path.

Praxis of the Firelands officially opens Wednesday, January 19. Located at 725 Wessor Ave, Praxis brings more than 50 new healthcare and administrative jobs to Willard. It is the second location in Ohio operated by Landmark Recovery. The new Firelands location joins Praxis of Cleveland, located in Euclid, which opened in December of 2021.
