Stephanie Gricius to run for Utah House of Representatives for new House District 50

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Former Eagle Mountain City Council member, Stephanie Gricius (R), formally announced today her intent to run for the Utah House of Representatives representing the newly formed House District 50. Photo.

Gricius, who is a REALTOR®, former City Council Member, entrepreneur, foster parent, and mother of five children, has lived in the district with her family since 2010. As one of her core values, she has participated in community service since she was 14 when she volunteered to coach T-Ball at the local YMCA.

“I’ve always believed in giving back to and serving my community,” said Gricius. “Making the decision to run as representative for Utah House District 50 is a natural next step in my core belief to serve my family and the great people of our district and state.”

As a foster family, one of the paramount issues to Gricius is child welfare reform.

“Child welfare is a complex issue by nature,” she said. “I am a strong advocate for parental rights, but I also believe we have a moral obligation to protect our most vulnerable when they sincerely need our help. As a foster parent, I’ve witnessed the system work successfully to reunify and strengthen families but there are also many areas where improvement is desperately needed.”

Gricius served as a precinct chair in her district of the Utah County Republican Party from 2016 to 2021. She lives with her husband, Chris, and her five children, two dogs, seven ducks, and assortment of reptiles and small animals in Eagle Mountain, Utah.
