LIMA, Peru--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ) is proud to announce that Peru has been awarded three important distinctions at the global edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA).

These awards close a year full of important honours for Peru that highlight its tourism industry quality and that position the country as a bucket list destination.

The WTA serves to distinguish and celebrate excellence in all segments of the global travel and tourism industry. For this reason, it is important to recognize and praise those playing a leading role in these triumphs in tourism and gastronomy, all those who work to promote our culture, the beauty of our destination, the high quality of our tourist services in several regions and our increasingly famous gastronomy.

The continuous promotion of our country and recognition from organizations such as the World Travel Awards, continue to confirm Peru as the ideal tourist destination for travel, both domestically and internationally.

These awards come months after the ones received at the WTA South America, where Peru was considered the leading culinary destination in South America, the leading cultural destination in South America, Machupicchu was considered the leading tourist attraction in South America, and PROMPERÚ was honoured as the leading South American tourist office.

In addition, a few days ago PROMPERÚ was also pleased to announce the results of the 2021 World Cruise Awards, recognizing Peru as the best river cruise destination in the world and the best river cruise destination in Latin America.
