Feeding Tomorrow Announces Scholarship Opportunities for Graduate and Undergraduate Students Pursuing Degrees in the Science of Food

CHICAGO--()--Feeding Tomorrow, the Foundation of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), today announced that applications are now open for more than 30 undergraduate scholarships and more than 20 graduate scholarship opportunities. Founded in 1985, Feeding Tomorrow encourages, promotes, and rewards the excellence of students pursuing food science careers through various efforts including a variety of academic tuition scholarships.

New this year, undergraduate scholarship applicants are no longer restricted to attending IFT Higher Education Review Board (HERB) approved programs for 14 new scholarships. Feeding Tomorrow is also implementing application process improvements.

“As an organization, we are committed to actively addressing barriers to education, especially for those who are most impacted by food inequity. Without this, we cannot fulfill our mission of inspiring food scientists to feed a growing and diverse population,” said Feeding Tomorrow Chair Brenda Knapp-Polzin. “With this commitment in mind, the Feeding Tomorrow Board of Trustees voted in support of updates to the academic scholarship program, including the introduction of extended scholarship eligibility.”

The application deadline for both undergraduate and graduate scholarships is March 1, 2022. To learn more about these scholarship opportunities, please visit: ift.org/community/students/scholarships.
