AM Best to Join Global Insurance Forum’s Expert Series to Discuss Regulation, Innovation

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best’s Matthew C. Mosher will join the Global Insurance Forum’s Expert Series for an on-demand discussion beginning Dec. 13, 2021, about how the pandemic, economic issues and the appearance of new risks are changing the insurance regulatory environment.

During the event, Mosher, president and chief executive officer of AM Best Rating Services, and Paul Carroll, editor-in-chief of Insurance Thought Leadership, have a conversation on regulatory-related topics, including:

  • How insurance regulators need to bring in new expertise, not just to handle new risks such as cyber, but also to understand how technology is changing core processes at insurers, including underwriting.
  • Why insurance companies’ ability to innovate is now part of AM Best’s analytical assessments.
  • How reputation risk, and in particular, talent risk, have emerged as major insurance industry concerns.

Mosher has been with AM Best for more than 25 years and is responsible for all of the agency’s rating services business. He speaks frequently to industry groups on a wide array of insurance and rating issues. Carroll is a published author, and spent 17 years at the Wall Street Journal as an editor and reporter; he was nominated twice for the Pulitzer Prize. The event, one of a six-part series, is titled, “Regulation In A Changing Landscape: A Conversation with Matt Mosher,” and is available for viewing beginning at 9:00 a.m. (EST) on Dec. 13.
