Sunlight.io named ‘Hyper-Convergence Innovation of the Year’ at the SDC Awards 2021

Sunlight’s HCI solution wins most innovative in category at the Storage, Digitalisation + Cloud Awards 2021.

CAMBRIDGE, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sunlight.io, the edge infrastructure company, today announced its ‘Hyper-Convergence Innovation of the Year’ win at the SDC Awards 2021 - with competition from Nutanix and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The entry showcased an OEM partnership with Altos Computing, a subsidiary of Acer Inc., to deliver the industry’s fastest and most efficient hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) appliances.

Now in its 12th year, the SDC Awards celebrate the achievements of end users and the IT community as they have innovated like never before. All entries go through a rigorous validation process by the awarding body’s editorial board, and the shortlisted entries were then voted on by the readers of the Digitalisation World stable of titles.

Combining the power of Sunlight’s NexVisor HCI stack and Altos Computing’s BrainSphereTM servers allows organizations to run resource-intensive workloads like AI and analytics with high density, ultra-high performance, and simple scalability, from the edge to the core datacenter.

“The range of HCI appliances we have created through our partnership with Sunlight deliver 50-70% better density and performance than competing HCI solutions.” said Jackie Lee, President at Altos Computing. “This makes it not only more efficient to deploy in a datacenter environment but unlocks a whole new range of uses for edge environments. We’ve already seen considerable excitement from our partners and customers around this new product line.”

Winners were announced at a gala evening event on 24th November 2021 at the Leonardo Royal St. Paul's Hotel, London.

Julian Chesterfield, Founder and CEO of Sunlight, who was in attendance and collected the award, stated, “The SDC awards recognise excellence in the storage, digitalisation and cloud space, and it is great validation for our NexVisor HCI product and the innovation we’re bringing to the industry - working with partners, like Altos Computing.”
