NielsenIQ University Ready to Develop Diverse Talent Pipeline for CPG and Retail Industries

The program aims to benefit students of color with a certificate of training and on-site client internship

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NielsenIQ has partnered with colleges and universities with diverse student populations, including Spelman College, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, the University of Illinois Chicago, Rutgers University Newark and the City College of New York as well as leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers and retailers Mondelēz International, Kimberly-Clark and several others to develop the next generation of diverse data and analytics talent for the industry.

Through this partnership, the company launched NielsenIQ University, a 12-week program designed to help undergraduate students gain exposure and access to the CPG industry. The hands-on approach of the program offers an opportunity for students to prepare for a career in insights, analytics and technology. This year, 125 participants will be enrolled in the program, with the goal to create a better and more equal CPG industry.

NielsenIQ has partnered with CPG customers to design course content. Curriculum will include case studies designed by CPG companies focused on real challenges their businesses are facing. Participants will use NielsenIQ’s data and Connect platform technology to design solutions to the challenges, driving value for participating customers. In addition, students will have access to mentors from NielsenIQ and partnering CPG companies, as well as networking opportunities to learn and grow their understanding of career possibilities in the CPG industry.

“As leaders in the CPG industry, we want to develop a diverse workforce to offer the highest level of engagement and experience to our customers and partners,” said Jim Peck, Executive Chairman and CEO, NielsenIQ. “Providing opportunities for development in data, technology and analytics careers will give the next generation of talent a head start in driving valuable impact on the CPG industry.”

“Our ambition is to transform the industry by developing best-in-class analytical and technical talent. Through NielsenIQ University, we will mentor and build a pipeline of diverse and early-career talent into the customer success teams. This program captures the essence of NielsenIQ's Diversity & Inclusion values.
