LSU Online and Springboard Partner to Train Next Generation of UI/UX Designers

LSU Online to Offer Springboard’s UI/UX Design Bootcamp and Provide Hands-On Experience for Career-Based Learning

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LSU Online & Continuing Education and Springboard, an online learning platform preparing students for in-demand careers through comprehensive, mentor-led programs, announce a partnership to offer the LSU UI/UX Design Bootcamp. The partnership aims to prepare students for high-demand careers in the UI/UX field through a mixture of coursework, real-world industry design projects, and best-in-class mentor-led learning, career support and job placement services.

“LSU remains committed to staying on the cutting edge of online program development and expanding opportunities for adult learners to earn a quality education from LSU,” said Matt Lee, interim executive vice president & provost of LSU.

LSU, among the top 1 percent of elite universities with land, sea and space-grant status and the highest ranked public university in Louisiana by U.S. News & World Report, and Springboard, which is the leading B2C bootcamp in the UX/UI design space with evidenced success in fostering upskill and reskill opportunities for its enrollees with thousands of graduates to date, will prepare students for a career in one of the fastest growing fields last year in just nine months, as referenced in the Cognizant Jobs of the Future Index.

Students that enroll in the LSU UI/UX Design Bootcamp, which is powered by Springboard, explore all stages of the UI/UX design process from design thinking to ideating, sketching and more. The curriculum consists of videos, articles, hands-on projects and career-related coursework. Notably, students also complete a 40-hour industry design project where they work with real companies to execute concrete deliverables for the business, affording students hands-on experience and an opportunity to build a portfolio.

“As one of the biggest and most trusted brands in higher education, LSU is helping us to build the most highly accessible educational pathways to the high-paying careers of the future,” said Sanam Raza, General Manager of University Partnerships at Springboard. “This bootcamp program isn’t just for new LSU students, but for anyone interested in the opportunity to upskill and reskill, regardless of where they are in their careers. Bringing skills-based education to diverse cohorts is what our mission is all about, and we’re thrilled at the opportunity to deliver on that mission with LSU.”

Students who have completed these programs to-date have received job offers from highly coveted companies including Google, Facebook, Dell, Lyft, IBM, and more. The courses will be open to the public, and prospective students do not need to be enrolled currently at LSU or have previous experience to qualify. Upon completion of the programs, students will earn a digital badge co-branded with LSU and Springboard to share their qualifications online, and access to the program’s career support and job placement services.

Enrollment for the LSU UI/UX Design Bootcamp is now open, and classes will begin in January 2022. Students can enroll or sign up to be notified about enrollment updates at career-bootcamp.lsu.edu/programs/ui-ux/.
