HelloFresh Launches Giving Program, LimeAid, to Help Feed Food Insecure Families

New program will provide HelloFresh meal kits at no cost to those who are selected

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As part of a worldwide initiative created by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, World Food Day brings awareness and actions to those who suffer from hunger and the need for a healthy diet. In honor of World Food Day, HelloFresh, the world’s leading meal kit company, is proud to announce today the launch of LimeAid, its giving program that provides support to families and individuals facing humanitarian crises, natural disasters, and other states of food insecurity.

The LimeAid program is designed to provide the opportunity for individuals and/or families to be nominated and selected to receive 12 HelloFresh boxes at no cost, to be used at any time within a 52 week period. The program will offer two delicious recipes for four people over the course of one year. Nominations can be submitted by filling out this form and will be selected on a regular basis.

“We are thrilled to introduce the LimeAid program in keeping with our mission of creating a more equitable food system,” said Uwe Voss, CEO of HelloFresh US. “No one should have to make impossible choices in order to feed their loved ones and it is part of our core values to continue making an impact on the lives that need it most.”

HelloFresh offers additional ways to give the gift of a home cooked meal to those in need. As part of HelloFresh’s Beyond The Box program, customers can visit the “HelloFresh Market” section of their menu page and select “Meals with Meaning” or opt to “Donate Your Box” on a skip week, which will provide nourishing meals to food-insecure households.
