AffiniPay Appoints CFO of BigCommerce, Robert Alvarez, to Executive Board

AffiniPay Continues to Add to Executive Team As the Company Scales at Rapid Rate

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AffiniPay, the fintech leader in online payments for professionals, has appointed Robert Alvarez as a member of their executive board. AffiniPay was recently recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in America for the 10th year in a row on the Inc 5000 list. Robert’s appointment follows the news of AffiniPay’s new CEO, technology leader Dru Armstrong, as well as Stuart C. Harvey Jr.’s appointment to the AffiniPay executive board.

Robert Alvarez, Chief Financial Officer of BigCommerce, brings a range of experience in growing businesses, cultivating passionate teams and cultures, strategic execution, and business transactions with both public and privately held high-growth tech companies. Overseeing all facets of financial and operational strategy, Robert has guided BigCommerce through it’s private growth financing rounds with tier 1 institutional investors including General Catalyst, Revolution Growth, SoftBank, GGV Capital and Goldman Sachs. Most recently Alvarez led BigCommerce’s $249 million IPO which ranked #1 as the most oversubscribed tech IPO in the last five years and #1 in day one performance of tech IPOs in the last 15 years.

Prior to BigCommerce, Alvarez helped scale four high-growth, venture-backed startups through their exits. Three of the startups were successfully acquired by large strategic public companies, with the fourth going public. Robert has been recognized by the Austin Business Journal as a 3-time CFO of the Year, both in 2013 and 2021 for his exemplary leadership at BigCommerce, as well as in 2011 while serving as CFO at LibreDigital.
