The Cake House Using Clinical Prescription Cannabis To Help Veterans Combat PTSD, Chronic Pain

The Premier Cannabis Dispensary Continues To Aid The Veteran Community

VISTA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cake House, a premier veteran-owned cannabis dispensary, announced today it will continue to provide veterans with robust alternative solutions for all their health care needs with the opening of a flagship location in Vista, California. The Cake House will open two to three more stores in 2021 and more than 10 are planned for 2022. The Cake House proudly supports California’s SB34, the Dennis Peron and Brownie Mary Act.

A recent study of 60,000 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans said 13.5 percent of deployed and non-deployed veterans screened positive for PTSD. That is why The Cake House is supplying the veteran community with trusted medicine to combat the effects of PTSD, reduce chronic pain, nausea and many other common ailments veterans and civilians face.

“As a Naval Veteran, I know firsthand the impact serving in the military can have on your mental, physical and emotional health,” CEO Daniel Wise said. “That’s why The Cake House works diligently every day to provide veterans alternative solutions to combat different types of chronic ailments. We must continue to help those who never hesitated to protect us — therefore we are constantly working on new formulations and new research to treat symptoms of ailments associated with the veteran community.”

Wise, a Naval Veteran, started the company to combat these issues and bring to the market a brand that truly offers accessibility, diversity, and provides for our underserved communities.

The Cake House is deeply rooted in the Veteran community and over the last 5 years we’ve utilized our affiliate nonprofits and worked hand-in-hand with companies like HVGC, a cannabis brand that donates 100 percent of its profits to veterans PTSD research.

The Cake House has instituted a “Veterans First” hiring policy that allows it to hire veterans directly from the communities in which it builds its facilities.

While many veteran issues are overshadowed by PTSD, The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recently stated that 1 in 5 veterans suffering from PTSD also suffer from drug abuse. This is a result of the use of prescription painkillers to combat chronic pain. In fact, according to the Addiction Center, military doctors write more than 4 million prescriptions for painkillers. The Cake House is playing a major role in reducing these numbers by supplying safe, clinical prescription, over-the-counter cannabis and hemp-based medications to reduce pain, addiction and deaths.

The Cake House has evolved into a multi-state cannabis company dedicated to developing and operating customer focused high-end retail locations, premier brands and cutting-edge cultivation, processing and manufacturing facilities.
