Save the Date for Deque’s Axe-Con 2022

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Deque Systems, the trusted leader in digital accessibility, announced today that the second annual axe-con conference will return next year on March 15-17, 2022. Given the powerful response to the inaugural axe-con, Deque will host the conference as a free virtual event again next year.

Axe-con is an open and inclusive digital accessibility conference that welcomes developers, designers, business users, and accessibility professionals of all experience levels to a new kind of accessibility conference focused on building, testing, and maintaining accessible digital experiences. The inaugural axe-con in 2021 hosted a global audience with over 17,000 people registered representing more than 7,600 organizations and featured over 100 expert speakers, including Vint Cert, known as the “Father of the Internet,” disability rights lawyer Haben Girma, and Forrester analyst Gina Bhawalker.

“We were blown away by the success of the first axe-con and can’t wait to bring the accessibility community together again to share ideas about building more accessible experiences for everyone,” said Preety Kumar, founder and CEO at Deque Systems. “Axe-con 2021 was the largest assembly of accessibility professionals ever, and the level of enthusiasm, engagement and passion from our attendees and speakers was remarkable. While we are looking forward to future years where we can gather in person, we’re excited to recreate the same virtual experience in 2022.”

According to a survey taken by Deque following this year’s axe-con, 99.54% of attendees said they would join again for 2022 and 96.88% said they would recommend axe-con to a colleague. In addition to more inspiring speakers and sessions, the second annual axe-con will also feature the next iteration of the axe awards for individuals and organizations using axe-core technology.
