Don Lee Farms Serves Food To Over 100 Million Americans During COVID-19 Pandemic

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Don Lee Farms has reached a milestone by providing meals to over 100 million people during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. Don Lee Farms partnered with farmers, growers and distributors to produce and assemble food boxes for American families in need. The food boxes were filled with a variety of food staples including meat and vegetarian proteins, vegetables and milk. These boxes were provided through USDA's Farmers To Families Food Box Program. The program mobilized resources to support US agriculture, fight hunger and support American families, seniors and children through "truck to trunk" drive-through distribution.

Don Lee Farms, a third-generation family food company with nearly 40 years of experience in meat and plant-based proteins, brought together suppliers and a distribution fleet of mobile refrigerated trucks to hunger-relief organizations, food pantries, local schools and other pickup locations.

Donald Goodman, President, Don Lee Farms said, “The Don Lee Farms team, together with our industry partners, delivered over 100 million boxes to American families. They stepped up with passion, enthusiasm and hard work to achieve a seemingly implausible milestone. We made it our priority to produce and move food to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. I am proud of the lasting impact this national operation has made in our communities."
