Prairie Lithium Validates 99.7% Lithium Extraction From Brine in 5 Minutes

EMERALD PARK, Saskatchewan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PRAIRIE LITHIUM (the “Company” or “Prairie Lithium”), a leading Canadian lithium brine and technology development company, is pleased to announce that its core Prairie Lithium Ion Exchange (Plix) technology was third-party verified at lab scale to achieve an average of 99.7% lithium extraction from brine produced in Saskatchewan, Canada. Prairie Lithium’s Plix technology and process allows lithium to be selectively removed from brine, while eliminating the requirement for solar evaporation ponds.

Prairie Lithium retained Coanda Research & Development (“Coanda”) to complete the third-party verification of its technology. Three separate lab technicians, working under supervision, repeatedly achieved greater than 99% lithium extraction in less than 5 minutes from brine at Prairie Lithium’s test facility in Emerald Park, Saskatchewan. All samples were sent to an accredited third-party laboratory. In addition to the rapid lithium extraction, the results also show the combined rejection of >98% of Sodium (Na), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), and Potassium (K). The result of this is a lithium chloride solution that can readily be converted into lithium hydroxide and further converted into lithium carbonate.
