I-PASS Patient Safety Institute Celebrates 5 Years of Improved Patient Handoffs and Patient Safety

In five years, 100 million handoffs have been completed using the I-PASS solution

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--I-PASS Patient Safety Institute, a clinical leader in patient safety, is celebrating their five-year milestone and 100 million handoffs. Founded in 2016, I-PASS Institute was formed to leverage the successful, existing I-PASS methodology and create a scalable, repeatable process for healthcare organizations to successfully manage care handoffs.

Developed by clinicians for clinicians, I-PASS has evolved into a communication blueprint consisting of three digital platforms—Learning, Measurement, and EHR Integration—making it easier for institutions to implement and reduce communication failures during patient handoffs. To date, the I-PASS Bundle has prevented 3 million major and minor harm events and is currently implemented in more than 100 institutions.
