Wind River Named One of the “Best Places to Work” in the Bay Area

ALAMEDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wind River®, a leader in delivering software for intelligent systems, has been recognized as a “Best Places to Work in the Bay Area 2021” award winner by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal. Wind River earned the prestigious distinction based on employee satisfaction across several areas, including personal engagement, team dynamics, and trust in leadership.

“As emerging technologies transform the workplace, a recent study estimated that 79% of U.S. CEOs are concerned about a growing shortage of key skills.1 Wind River continues to invest in its expanding employee base to provide qualified talent for an increasingly software-first, AI-first world,” said Wind River President and CEO Kevin Dallas. “Through the years, we’ve also maintained our strong ‘One Wind River’ team culture, and it’s an honor to be recognized with this latest workplace award. I am extremely proud of our team for making our cultural attributes of customer focus, growth mindset, and diversity and inclusion the guiding framework for how we work with each other and our customers at Wind River every day.”

Wind River industry-leading software is helping customers transform and find a path for success in an AI-first world. Celebrating its 40-year anniversary this year, the company can tout a history of being at the forefront of industry change, including having the first real-time operating system on Mars and playing a key role in the world’s first successful 5G data session. Most recently, Wind River introduced Wind River Studio, the industry’s first cloud-native platform for the development, deployment, operations, and servicing of mission-critical intelligent systems where security, safety, and reliability are required.

Wind River Chief People Officer Terese Lam added, “Wind River works hard to foster a culture where employees thrive and can bring their best self to work. I am so honored and proud of what we have been able to achieve collectively as a company to make Wind River a best place to work.”

The annual Best Places to Work awards recognize the top employers in the Greater Bay Area. The designation is determined by results of a voluntary employee survey rating satisfaction across several key areas. The survey contains scored items designed to measure employee engagement and other workplace factors, including communications and resources, individual needs, manager effectiveness, personal engagement, team dynamics, and trust in leadership. The results were tabulated by research firm Quantum Workplace.

The Best Places to Work recognition is the latest in a series of recent Wind River industry accolades, which include the following: 2021 Top Workplaces USA Award, Stevie Bronze Award, Cloud Computing Excellence Award, IoT Evolution 5G Leadership Award, IoT Evolution Edge Computing Excellence Award, Military & Aerospace Technology Innovator Award, and 2020 BIG Awards for Business “Executive of the Year” for Wind River President and CEO Kevin Dallas.
