The Standard Promotes Melissa Oliver-Janiak to Second Vice President, Total Rewards

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) has promoted Melissa Oliver-Janiak to second vice president of Total Rewards. In her new role, Oliver-Janiak will lead the company’s total rewards strategy along with leading the benefits, compensation and HR Direct teams.

Oliver-Janiak joined The Standard in 2014, initially serving as in-house employment counsel. In 2017 she joined the Human Resources department to lead the benefits team in development of multi-year benefit strategies, implementation and administration of benefit plans and oversight of the HR Direct employee service team.

“Melissa’s expertise and leadership contribute greatly to The Standard’s evolving benefit strategy,” said Susan Bruechner, vice president and chief human resources officer at The Standard. “She has a strong employee and customer service focus and I’m excited that she’s taking on this expanded role.”

Oliver-Janiak earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.
