Mission Lane Surpasses One Million Customers and Adds Fintech and Banking Veterans to Executive Team

Company more than doubled revenue in 2020, on track to do so again in 2021

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mission Lane, a purpose-driven financial technology company, today announced the appointment of Zeenat Sidi as Business Head, Digital Banking & Financial Services, and Krishna Venkatraman as Chief Data Science Officer. These new appointments come as Mission Lane adds the one millionth customer to its market-leading credit card franchise, just over two years after launching as a standalone company.

Mission Lane provides better products and experiences for people trying to build or rebuild their credit and improve their financial lives. Despite the headwinds accompanying COVID-19, the company achieved over 100% revenue growth in 2020 and is on pace to double revenue growth again in 2021.

“Our continued growth demonstrates the vital need for high-quality products and services tailored to the 100 million Americans with challenged credit or no credit history at all,” said Shane Holdaway, Chief Executive Officer of Mission Lane. “I am so excited to have Zeenat and Krishna add their experience and talents to our amazing team as we work to bring innovative and transparent financial products to all consumers, a mission that has become more important than ever amid the far-reaching economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Krishna Venkatraman, Chief Data Science Officer for Mission Lane, joined from Nubank, where he served as Chief Data Scientist. Krishna is responsible for expanding Mission Lane’s competitive advantage in utilizing data in decision making, innovation, and learning. He comes to Mission Lane with over 25 years of experience leading high-performing data science teams at companies including IBM, OnDeck, and Intuit. Krishna is a co-inventor in over 20 patents in the application of machine learning and optimization to pricing, risk, marketing and operations.

Zeenat Sidi, Business Head of Digital Banking & Financial Services at Mission Lane, joined most recently from Galileo Financial Technologies, where she was General Manager of Enterprise Lending, Investing and Data, spearheading efforts to expand the company’s suite of financial services. In her new role, Zeenat will lead the charge in expanding Mission Lane’s product offerings beyond credit cards. Prior to Galileo, Zeenat was Group Business Head, Lending, at SoFi. Previously, she spent over two decades in banking and credit-related roles at Capital One and RBC.

These two senior-level hires add their experience to Mission Lane’s world-class executive team, including Chief Financial Officer Henry Domenici, who joined from Square Capital; Chief Growth and Lending Officer Lisa Fischer, formerly of Barclays and Capital One; General Counsel Stephanie Karfias from Truist; and Chief Strategy Officer Aaron Montgomery, an entrepreneur and co-founder of CarLotz. As Mission Lane expands, these leaders will be integral in continuing the record growth the company has experienced over the past year and fostering further expansion into complementary financial products.

“Customers are flocking to Mission Lane for a reimagined digital credit experience. Nowhere else can they get access to clear, transparent credit—and soon, other financial products—with exceptional customer service,” said Holdaway. “I am incredibly fortunate to work with leaders like Zeenat, Krishna, and many others who daily apply their deep expertise and creative minds to the task of innovating on behalf of our incredible customers.”
