Garner Meads of Vivint Smart Home Honored with a 2021 Utah Business Corporate Counsel Award

Meads recognized for his leadership in achieving some of the company’s most important objectives

PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Vivint Smart Home, Inc. (NYSE: VVNT), a leading smart home company, today announced that Garner Meads, vice president and associate general counsel, is a 2021 Utah Business Corporate Counsel Award winner. The annual Utah Business Corporate Counsel Awards recognize exceptional in-house counselors who serve Utah’s businesses, nonprofits and other private-sector organizations.

“Garner’s former life as an NCAA Division I basketball player speaks to his nature as the consummate team player and leader,” said Shawn Lindquist, chief legal officer at Vivint Smart Home. “Garner helps us win together by partnering with his business counterparts to effectively and ethically pursue initiatives that increase our competitive advantage, which makes him an invaluable member of the Vivint team.”

Meads joined Vivint in 2016 after nearly two years at Vivint Solar, a separate sister company. Earlier in his career, he worked for Vinson & Elkins LLP and Sidley Austin LLP.

Today, Meads helps manage Vivint’s strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and SEC compliance and reporting initiatives. His contributions have helped lay a solid legal foundation to achieve some of the company’s most important objectives, including Vivint’s SPAC merger to become a public company in January 2020.

Utah Business recognized the winners at an awards ceremony in Salt Lake City and featured them on the Utah Business website and in the magazine’s April print issue.
