Diligent Honors Exceptional Leaders in Public Governance with Inaugural Modern Governance 100 for Community Boards Program

Local governance leaders to be recognized for notable commitments to community betterment

Comprised of 100 individuals and teams who are driving meaningful change, the list honors publicly elected boards and councils focused on municipal and education governance, as well as the professionals that support them. Modern Governance 100 for Community Boards is an extension of Diligent’s Modern Governance 100 program that launched in 2019 to recognize top governance professionals in the corporate sector who demonstrate dedication and resiliency while driving change across their organization.

Over the last year, in the midst of the devastating pandemic, public governance leaders were challenged with addressing novel circumstances that, in many cases, upended their traditional workloads. While these hardships and changes were overwhelming, community leaders nationwide stepped up to help ensure service continuity and long-term organizational success. The publicly elected board and council members recognized by the Modern Governance 100 for Community Boards program demonstrated exceptional work throughout the year, all without losing sight of the importance of empathy and community.
