TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SoftwareReviews, a division of IT research and advisory firm Info-Tech Research Group, has published its 2021 Business Intelligence Data Quadrant Awards, naming six vendors as gold medalists. The following vendors are leaders according to the feedback provided by their end users via SoftwareReviews’ comprehensive online survey. Vendors are rated on product features, vendor capabilities, and relationship with their software partner:

  • Dundas BI
  • Tableau
  • Board
  • Looker
  • Zoho Analytics
  • Domo

“The COVID pandemic has exponentially increased the value of timely data-driven insights, which, in turn, intensified competition in the Business Intelligence software market. Many vendors who seemed to be enjoying their status quo a year ago rolled up their sleeves and have released significant updates to their platforms. Given the varying shifts in the industry, the vendor positions in the 2021 SoftwareReviews Data Quadrant report vary quite significantly across different evaluation categories – and the final hierarchy reflects the aggregated score. What’s next to watch out for? AI-based enhancements – this criteria could change the success roster significantly. The whole market segment is changing gradually from 'Business Intelligence' to ‘Cognitive Support Service’,” said Igor Ikonnikov, research director, Info-Tech Research Group.

What makes the SoftwareReviews Data Quadrant different?
The study involves gathering intelligence on user satisfaction with both product features and the experience with the vendor. Aggregated emotional response ratings are included in the areas of service, negotiation, product impact, conflict resolution, and strategy and innovation to create a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and its product – all from the software users’ point of view. SoftwareReviews calls this insight the Net Emotional Footprint.

Dundas BI, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +83, scored top product in many areas, exceeding user expectations in dashboard. Tableau, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +82, was ranked highly for operational reporting capabilities. Board with a Net Emotional Footprint of +78, ranked strongly on vendor ease of customization. Looker, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +82, performed well on business intelligence security. Zoho Analytics, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +81, excelled in business value created. Domo, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +84, excelled in advanced analytics and data science.

In general, Business Intelligence software users were most satisfied with business intelligence security, dashboard, and operational reporting capabilities – and were most dissatisfied with mobile feature.
