Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrates Grand Opening of NTS’s Multi-Million-Dollar Dynamics Test Building at Robust Santa Clarita Lab

The Testing Center of Excellence for Space, Aviation, and Defense Ramps Up Capabilities to Support the Race-to-Space

ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NTS, the leader in testing, inspection, and certification solutions in North America, is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of its new multi-million-dollar dynamics test building at its laboratory in Santa Clarita, California. The event featured a socially distanced ribbon-cutting ceremony with elected officials and select customers. The secure test building houses a new, large-force T-4000 dual shaker system, which is critical for helping customers in the new Race-to-Space.

Representatives from space, aviation, and defense companies, including Blue Origin, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin, were on hand to witness the unveiling of NTS’s new expanded capability. “The qualification and testing of hardware for space flight systems is unique, extensive, and complicated; and is a mandatory, critical step in delivering the safest and most reliable systems for space exploration. NTS is one of a select few companies that is trusted to test the flight hardware needed for travel to space”, said Dr. Chahriar Assad, Chief Scientist and Technical Fellow at The Boeing Company.

NTS dual shaker systems have been used to qualify components for nearly every space launch platform, including the Space Shuttle, Atlas, Delta IV, and Space Launch System (SLS). This rich history in space innovation highlights the undisputed industry leadership of NTS in performing vibration testing on very large assemblies utilizing high output, dual shaker test systems. As a winner of the 2019 NASA Space Flight Awareness Supplier Award—and a multi-decade history in extreme environmental and dynamics testing—NTS continues to serve as the world’s most trusted test lab for space testing.

The Grand Opening drew attention from several city, state, and federal government officials, including US Congressman Mike Garcia and Santa Clarita Mayor Bill Miranda to acknowledge the significance of the upgrades. Additional distinguished guests included Paul Stump (Captain, Santa Clarita City Fire Department), Justin Diez (Sheriff Captain, Santa Clarita Sheriff Department), Suzette Martinez Valladares (California State Assembly), Kris Hough (Field Representative on behalf of California State Senator Scott Wilks). “Santa Clarita should be immensely proud of the contribution our community is making in the aviation, space, and defense sectors through the work done at companies like NTS. It was an honor to participate in the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at the new NTS Santa Clarita Laboratory and I look forward to seeing all the innovation and opportunity to come as a result,” said Garcia.

NTS Santa Clarita Lab is a massive test facility with advanced dynamics, environmental, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic testing capabilities to meet the most extreme testing challenges for military, aviation, and space projects and programs. “We are delighted to continue in the 60-year history commitment to our customers to ensure the best test experience possible,” said Francisco Palop, Director of Operations, at NTS, Santa Clarita.
