Manifest MedEx Receives NCQA Data Aggregator Validation Status

Health plans can now use data from Manifest MedEx for HEDIS® quality reporting

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Manifest MedEx (MX), California’s nonprofit health data network, announced today it has successfully completed NCQA’s Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) program and earned the NCQA status of Validated with Exception, joining only three other data aggregators in the country with this credential. MX data from approved sources can now be used as standard supplemental data for Healthcare and Efficiency Data Information Set (HEDIS®), enabling more efficient quality reporting for health plans and providers within MX’s network of more than 120 hospitals, 700 ambulatory care sites, and seven health plans, spanning 25 million Californians today.

NCQA’s Data Aggregator Validation is designed to address feedback NCQA has received from health plans, vendors, and government agencies concerned about improving streamlined access to clinical health data for use in HEDIS performance rates. Using validated data from MX reduces the time health plans and providers need to spend assembling patient charts and confirming data for HEDIS reporting. Providers can share and validate data just once with MX, rather than completing this time-consuming process with multiple health plans every year.

NCQA’s DAV program is a voluntary review process. The rigorous NCQA validation process improves the quality of MX data, benefiting all MX participants and their patients and members.

“Manifest MedEx is committed to reducing the burden of quality reporting and providing high-quality data so that health plans and providers can devote time and energy to what matters most — supporting and caring for patients,” said Claudia Williams, CEO of Manifest MedEx. “Earning this credential is a step towards our larger vision of streamlining data sharing across health plans, providers, hospitals, and public agencies to improve health and healthcare for patients and communities throughout California.”

Health plans interested in using MX’s standard supplemental data for HEDIS reporting should contact Erica Galvez, Chief Strategy Officer, Manifest MedEx at erica.galvez@manifestmedex.org.
