LegalShield Service Results Provide Glimpse into Secondary Effects of Covid-19

ADA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LegalShield’s mission to make security and access to justice available to all took on new meaning during the turbulent year of 2020. The company saw drastic changes in the volume of services it provides in certain areas of law, which reflect the mindset of individuals and business owners, and indicate secondary effects brought on by Covid-19. The most significant changes include:

  • A 33% increase in services around Business Law reflects how LegalShield Small Business Plan members utilized their plans to help navigate the rapidly changing landscape around employment issues, contracts and consumer finance, collections, and other aspects of their operations.
  • Estate Planning category saw a 26% increase over 2019, as Americans faced the uncertainty brought by the pandemic and sought solutions to ensure peace of mind for themselves and their families.
  • As families fundamentally restructured due to children’s education shifting to remote learning, and other stresses being introduced by the events of 2020, services in the Family Law category increased by 22%.
  • Amidst the challenges of 2020, as people were encouraged to stay home and forego travel, LegalShield experienced a 21% reduction in services pertaining to Traffic Matters and a 14% decrease in the Personal Injury category.

“Our technical platforms for service delivery, highly-trained Member Services Team, and experienced provider attorney network have enabled us to respond swiftly and satisfactorily to the surge in demand,” said Jeff Bell, CEO of LegalShield. “I am very proud that we were well-prepared to provide the advice and support that our members needed during this crisis.”

Through the twists and turns of 2020, LegalShield members continued to recognize the value of the services they received—the company’s member satisfaction score peaked at over 87% during the course of the year.
