Synoptek Gives Back by Matching Employee Donations and Volunteer Time

Leading IT Consulting Firm Raised $35K During its Week of Giving; Promises to Continue Matching Donations Through the Holidays

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Synoptek, a leader in business and technology consulting, services and management for over two decades, relaunched its Synoptek Gives program this November as part of its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility. Efforts kicked off in November, with a focused “Week of Giving” during which Synoptek and its employees collectively raised $35K for worthy non-profits. Synoptek partnered with Orange County United Way to tackle some of the community’s most critical problems across education, poverty, health and housing. As part of its Synoptek Gives social impact and corporate social responsibility program, the company organizes local and national, virtual and in-person volunteer activities – including writing letters to students, soldiers, veterans and healthcare workers, reading to young children, packing lunches for low-income families, hosting clothing drives and more.

To add a dose of healthy competition to fundraising efforts, Synoptek recently split its North America offices and employees into east and west teams led by Synoptek Gives ambassadors. Daily virtual get-togethers were held to create excitement and each team hosted games and activities to increase employee involvement. The fun included Clothing Bingo, where employees had to find clothes on the bingo sheet and donate them, and the Loose Change Challenge, where they had to find as much loose change as possible and donate it. Synoptek matched any employee monetary donations and donated $25 per hour for every hour an employee volunteered through United Way or other nonprofit organization. Synoptek is continuing its holiday giving efforts through the end of the year with a goal of matching up to $50,000.

“Many philanthropists have predicted that the economic fallout due to the current COVID pandemic will result in a sizable loss in charitable giving in 2020,” said Tim Britt, CEO of Synoptek. “In an effort to combat these predictions and help those most in need this 2020 holiday season, we re-launched our Synoptek Gives program—infusing it with new life, fun and vigor—to promote company-wide giving during a year where it’s greatly needed. We hope our efforts will inspire other organizations to give back, as these types of initiatives are crucial right now.”

Last year, Synoptek became the first company in Orange County to partner with United Way and launch the Salesforce Philanthropic Cloud in Orange County. This game-changing technology platform supports local and national giving through both fundraising and volunteerism, enabling employees and users to choose where their funds or volunteer hours are distributed.

Additionally, Synoptek was tapped to partner with United Way to support North American organizations interested in implementing Salesforce Philanthropic Cloud software. Earlier this year, OC United Way honored Synoptek as a Philanthropy Cloud Trailblazer in Orange County. With almost 1,200 United Way offices throughout the world, each United Way is dedicated to tackling the most critical issues directly impacting local communities to create brighter futures for all.

“Synoptek has been an invaluable partner, donor, volunteer and advocate for United Way,” said Chris Ticknor, chief transformation officer at Orange County United Way. “In this unique time of seemingly insurmountable challenges and change, Synoptek is dedicated to offering help in communities in which they live and work. Leveraging transformation technology from United Way and Salesforce, they’ve adopted philanthropic initiatives that emblazon their support of unity, community and neighbor.”
