VTrans Retains GZA for 3-year-plus Geotechnical Services Consulting Contract

BEDFORD, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. (GZA), a leading multi-disciplinary firm providing geotechnical, environmental, ecological, water, and construction management services, has been retained by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) to provide geotechnical evaluation professional consulting services for transportation projects statewide through 2023, with the potential for up to two one-year extensions.

Working in collaboration with VTrans’ in-house geotechnical staff, GZA will support the agency in its mission of planning, developing, implementing, and managing Vermont’s statewide transportation network that includes roads, bridges, railroads, airports, park-and-rides, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, and public transportation facilities and services. The contract covers up to $8 million in services.

Services GZA will provide on an on-call basis to VTrans include subsurface explorations, geological site characterization, boring log preparation, and geotechnical recommendations for a variety of bridge, roadway and related transportation facilities. VTrans oversees more than 2,700 miles of highways and 4,000 bridges in Vermont as well as 10 state-owned airports and extensive rail, public transit, and other transportation assets.
