Software Users Review IT Asset Management Vendors for Satisfaction, Revealing Top Five Through SoftwareReviews

Micro Focus Asset Manager, Spiceworks Inventory Online, IBM Control Desk, CA Asset Portfolio Management, and USU Valuemation 2020 IT Asset Management champions.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SoftwareReviews, a division of world-class IT research and consulting firm Info-Tech Research Group, has published its 2020 IT Asset Management Emotional Footprint Awards, naming five vendors as champions. The following vendors are leaders according to the feedback provided by their end users via SoftwareReviews’ comprehensive online survey.

  • Micro Focus Asset Manager
  • Spiceworks Inventory Online
  • IBM Control Desk
  • CA Asset Portfolio Management
  • USU Valuemation

What makes the SoftwareReviews Emotional Footprint different? Inclusion of aggregated emotional response ratings in the areas of service, negotiation, product impact, conflict resolution, and strategy and innovation. Together they create a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and its product from the software users’ point of view. SoftwareReviews calls this insight the Net Emotional Footprint.

“While most IT Asset Management vendors have worked hard to improve features, license libraries, and raise the accuracy of their reports and analysis, it is equally true that the market has traditionally been slow to truly innovate. Many organizations are still barely doing hardware asset management, or are not focusing enough attention on maturing their hardware and software practice. Therefore, they’re less likely to demand more from their vendors,” says Sandi Conrad, principal research director, Info-Tech Research Group. “As companies look to buy asset tools for the first time, or are looking to make a change, they need to look at features first to find the right fit. But this needs to be followed closely by a look at the roadmap – and a frank discussion on how accurate it is. The Emotional Footprint report can help set realistic expectations around the value of process in asset management, and the need for organizations to prioritize it.”

Micro Focus Asset Manager, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +89, was top-ranked for unique features, being respectful, and trustworthiness. Spiceworks Inventory Online, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +89, exceeded user expectations for integrity, friendly negotiation, client-friendly policies, keeping clients’ interests first, being transparent and generous, enabling productivity, and product enhancement. IBM Control Desk, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +82,led for being inspiring, and logged outstanding scores for security protection, unique features, and performance enhancements. CA Asset Portfolio Management, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +80, excelled in incumbent status and continuous improvement. USU Valuemation, with a Net Emotional Footprint of +80, was recognized for over-delivering, friendly negotiation, and being transparent.

In general, IT Asset Management users were most satisfied with being respectful – and were most dissatisfied with vendors over-promising and under-delivering.
