Why: Research has revealed that hospitalized COVID-19 patients who are known to have diabetes or glycemic control issues at the time of admission have a mortality rate four times higher than those without. Furthermore, mortality rates are seven times higher for people who are not known to have glycemic control issues and then experienced high blood sugar during their hospital stay. For these reasons, maintaining proper glycemic control for COVID-19 patients is critical.

This webinar is designed to help diabetes care and education specialists – including RNs, RDs, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, MDs and other health care providers – stay up to date on current practices of care for people with diabetes and other related conditions. During the session, three diabetes care and education specialists will share their experiences, challenges and the tools used to attain optimal glycemic management for people with diabetes or stress hyperglycemia in the inpatient setting. Topics will include best practices, patient outcomes, nursing workflows and technology integrations, followed by live Q&A.
