Kenco Receives Awards for Diversity and Leadership from Women in Trucking Association for Second Consecutive Year

Company chosen as Top Women-Owned Business in Transportation and Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--()--Kenco Logistics, a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider, today announced its recognition as one of the Women in Trucking Association’s (WIT) Top Women-Owned Businesses in Transportation and one of WIT’s Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation. This is the second consecutive year that Kenco has been a recipient of both awards.

Kenco Logistics is the largest woman-owned third-party logistics (3PL) provider in North America. The company is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and 100 percent of a customer’s spend with Kenco Logistics qualifies as a Tier-1 diversity spend.

“As we continue to celebrate our 70th anniversary milestone, these awards are a powerful reminder of Kenco’s legacy,” said Jane Kennedy Greene, Owner and Chairwoman of the Board of Kenco Logistics. “Our associates – both female and male – are the greatest pillars in our success and we value all that they do to serve our customers and keep supply chains moving.”

The Top Women-Owned Businesses in Transportation award was created to recognize women in leadership and encourage more women to become proactive leaders in their organizations. Each company was nominated and chosen based upon business success and accomplishments–including those related to gender diversity. Criteria used to identify award winners include majority ownership by a woman, financial stability and growth, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit.

“Women leaders can be found throughout our company. From Sales and Marketing to Innovation and ultimately General Managers in our distribution centers, women have earned these positions because they are simply the best at what they do,” said Greene.

The Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation award highlights companies in the industry who are friendly to women in both driver and professional capacities. They look for company cultures that foster gender diversity, competitive compensation and benefits, flexible hours and work requirements, professional development opportunities, and career advancement opportunities.

“Receiving this recognition from Women in Trucking is a wonderful testament to our strong and inclusive culture. We continue to focus on hiring best in class drivers who also represent the various communities and customers that we serve,” said Aaron Lincove, Vice President of Human Resources for Kenco Logistics. “Having a diverse workforce, and one which feels connected to our customers and the solutions which we provide is what allows us to continue to be one of the top 3PLs in North America.”
