AMA Houston Continues Discussion on How to Effectively Implement Anti-Racist Initiatives in September Academy Event

Master-Level Session Presents Ola Mobolade, Author, Speaker, Principal Consultant of COCO/OMNIVORE, New York City-Based Marketing Strategy Consultancy

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AMA Houston, the leading educational information, career-building, and networking resource for Houston’s marketing professionals, today announced that the September Academy Event, “Now is the Time for Change,” will be held virtually Sept. 24, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Veteran Marketing Consultant Ola Mobolade will delve into the opportunity businesses now have to evolve their identities to better serve consumers against the backdrop of these changing times.

Mobolade is a master at turning culturally relevant social trends into insights and implications for marketers. Her perspective is informed by a 16-year tenure at Kantar as Managing Director of the agency’s qualitative insights division, where she consulted dozens of Fortune 500 companies and co-authored the ground-breaking book, Marketing to the New Majority: Strategies for a Diverse World. In light of 2020’s historic spotlight on racial equity, she has spent much of this year educating marketers on best practices for addressing the needs of diverse consumers. AMA Houston is proud to partner with her for a dynamic and engaging webinar.

Attendees will learn:

  • How brand responses to social issues inform consumer preferences.
  • How to seize this moment of unprecedented focus on institutional racism and socioeconomic disparities to raise your company’s cultural IQ.
  • How to promote transparency and accountability by crafting impactful and empathetic cross-cultural communications.

“AMA Houston recognizes the importance of the continued conversation about systemic racism and necessary changes that can result from open communication,” said Emily Rhodes, 2020–2021 AMA Houston President. “Ola leverages her knowledge and understanding of social trends and issues to help businesses reach their targeted audience and transform into stronger and more successful organizations. Join us for an in-depth lesson into how we can translate this social change into our professional lives.”

AMA Houston Academy presents educational events that take a deeper look into the key trends, opportunities and challenges facing every marketer today.
