RED Mountain in British Columbia Joins the Ikon Pass Community for the 20/21 Winter Season

Ikon Pass 20/21 On Sale Now

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Ikon Pass community continues to grow with the addition of western Canada’s original ski destination, RED Mountain, and its hailed and unfettered vast terrain. Ikon Pass holders can now take advantage of 44 destinations for the 20/21 winter season. The Ikon Pass is on sale now at ikonpass.com.

Located in Rossland, British Columbia, RED Mountain is a Canadian trailblazer and the first stop on Canada’s famous Powder Highway. With its new Topping Chair expansion, RED delivers 3,850 acres of pristine terrain, putting the mountain in the top 10 largest ski destinations and #1 for most acres per skier in North America. Since 2013, RED has continued to open new terrain, introduced pay-per-run cat skiing, added The Josie, a new ski-in/ski-out boutique hotel, and opened a new modern hostel, Nowhere Special, at the base of the mountain.

“We are thrilled to invite Ikon Pass holders to RED Mountain and expand access into the great Monashee Mountains of Canada,” said Erik Forsell, Chief Marketing Officer, Alterra Mountain Company. “We are always looking for partners that define an independent spirit, incredible offerings, and a love of the mountains, and RED lives that each day.”

Ikon Pass holders will have access to seven days at RED with no blackout dates, and Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to five days each, with select blackout dates. There is no access to RED on the Ikon Session Pass 4-Day.

“As one of the first ski resorts in North America, RED Mountain defines authenticity, anchored by an emotional connection to its history, community, guests and staff,” said Howard Katkov, CEO & Chairman. “To stay sustainable and current in the ever-changing ski travel market, we are proud to become the latest Ikon Pass partner and join a list of iconic mountain destinations that share the same devotion to authenticity and character.”

Each 20/21 Ikon Pass comes with free Adventure Assurance, which offers Ikon Pass holders peace of mind to ski and ride throughout winter 20/21. Should a 20/21 Ikon Pass holder not use their pass after June 4, 2020, for any reason, they may elect to receive a full credit of their purchase price for their unused 20/21 Ikon Pass to be used toward a 21/22 Ikon Pass. In addition, starting September 10, 2020, Ikon Pass holders select a plan that works for them before October 1, 2020 that will provide them a credit in the event their Ikon Pass destination selection is closed due to an eligible COVID-19 event between December 10, 2020 and April 11, 2021.

The Ikon Pass unlocks adventure with access to 44 iconic winter destinations across the Americas, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand and is a collaboration of industry leaders - Alterra Mountain Company, Aspen Skiing Company, Boyne Resorts, POWDR, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Alta Ski Area, Snowbird, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, SkiBig3, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, RED Mountain, Taos Ski Valley, Windham Mountain, Zermatt, Thredbo, Mt Buller, Niseko United, Valle Nevado, and NZ Ski. About RED Mountain

RED Mountain is the last great, unspoiled resort. Located in Rossland, BC, first stop on Canada’s famous Powder Highway, fiercely independent RED delivers 3,850 acres of pristine skiing, placing it in the Top 10, size-wise, in North America. In 2019, RED added a new chairlift and seven more runs covering over 300 additional acres in the Topping Creek basis that also streamlines skier flow to Granite and Grey Mountain. Add in its 300″/7.6m of annual snowfall, wide-open groomed runs, legendary vertical (2,919ft/890m), $10/run in-bounds cat-skiing, 360-degree descents, a new boutique hotel, a modern hostel, a rich tradition, the best tree runs on planet earth, and it’s no wonder the New York Times voted it the “#8 Best Place in the World to Visit.” RED also nabbed “Most Underrated Resort” by Skiing. Wondering what “#1 Most Acres Per Skier” means? Fresh turns you don’t have to fight for.
