Phreesia Names Allison Hoffman as General Counsel

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Phreesia, (NYSE: PHR) the nation’s leading patient intake platform, has named Allison Hoffman as its General Counsel, effective August 24. Hoffman joins Phreesia from Intersection, a digital technology company focused on improving life in cities and public spaces, where she served as Chief Legal & Administrative Officer since 2016.

As General Counsel, Hoffman will oversee Phreesia’s Legal, Compliance, Risk, Privacy and Security teams.

Hoffman brings 25 years of legal and people-management experience to Phreesia, including leadership roles at companies in a variety of industries, in various stages of growth. Prior to her role at Intersection, she was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for the lifestyle company Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, culminating in oversight of the company’s sale in 2015. She also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of ALM Media. She began her career as an Associate at Skadden Arps. Hoffman holds a BA in Psychology from the College of Arts and Sciences and a BS in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and she received her JD from the University of Chicago Law School.

Hoffman succeeds Charles Kallenbach who served as Phreesia’s General Counsel since 2016. During his tenure, the company completed its successful initial public offering and annual financial and executive compensation disclosure, and obtained several important privacy and security certifications, such as SOC 2. Kallenbach plans to pursue other opportunities, including volunteering for the 2020 Biden presidential campaign.
