Cyber Academy of South Carolina Celebrates Class of 2020

GREENVILLE, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cyber Academy of South Carolina (CASC), an online public school, will celebrate the Class of 2020 during a virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, August 15th.

Available to students in grades K-12 across the state, CASC offers innovative learning platforms, a robust curriculum, and live virtual classes taught by state-licensed teachers.

The virtual graduation will celebrate the achievements of more than 200 students, which is the school’s largest graduating class to date. Collectively, the Class of 2020 reports it has been accepted to trade schools, colleges, and universities across the country including the University of South Carolina and Clemson University.

Through the school’s Destinations Career Academy, some graduates have paired a solid academic foundation with hands-on learning experiences in growing career fields like information technology (IT), business, and much more. Eighty-five percent of CASC seniors are graduating with a certified career-ready indicator. These include: industry-standard certifications, work-study, internship, or job shadow opportunities. Roughly ten percent are graduating one year early.

Students enroll in CASC for a number of reasons—some are looking to escape bullying, some have health concerns, many wish to accelerate their learning through advanced courses unavailable at their traditional school, and others are looking for an alternative to the traditional classroom setting to find success. CASC students access a robust online curriculum in the core subjects of math, science, English language arts, history, art and music as well as a host of electives. Live virtual classes taught by state-licensed teachers provide not only an engaging environment but give students the opportunity to learn with their peers in an online platform.
