Travelers Institute Launches New Webinar Series Offering Solutions to Current Business and Consumer Challenges

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV), today announced the launch of a new webinar series that delivers practical advice on managing business risks and supporting employees in today’s challenging environment. The series will cover topics such as helping employees manage stress and anxiety, small business liability issues, adapting to changes after the pandemic and the economic outlook. Programs are free and open to the public.

“The pandemic has had a far-reaching effect on both businesses and individuals, and it continues to create new challenges while exacerbating existing ones,” said Joan Woodward, President of the Travelers Institute and Executive Vice President of Public Policy at Travelers. “Through candid conversations with a variety of thought leaders, we want our audience to gain valuable perspectives that will help them make the best decisions for their employees, customers, family members and friends.”

The series, entitled Wednesdays with Woodward, will begin with “Emotional and Social Reintegration in the Age of COVID-19,” which will take place on July 22, at 1 p.m. ET. The webinar will feature a discussion between Woodward and Dr. Marcos Iglesias, Chief Medical Director at Travelers, about the ways business leaders can support the physical and mental health needs of their employees.

Additional webinars in the series will include:

  • Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020 – “Liability Issues for Businesses in the Time of COVID-19.”
  • Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020 – “Life After Shelter-in-Place: A Conversation with Stanford University School of Medicine Dean Dr. Lloyd Minor.”
  • Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 – “An Inside Look at IntelliDrive®, Travelers’ Telematics Program to Encourage Safer Driving Behaviors.”
  • Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020 – “An Economic and Political Outlook for 2020 and Beyond.”
  • Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 – “Crafting Your Comeback: An Interview with Ginny Brzezinski, Author of ‘Comeback Careers.’”

The Travelers Institute will host several other events throughout the remainder of the year, addressing subjects such as career challenges in the time of COVID-19, insuring autonomous vehicles and more.
