National Institute for STEM Education Micro Certificates Win Tech & Learning Award of Excellence

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--National Institute for STEM Education (NISE) Micro Certificates have won a 2020 Tech & Learning Award of Excellence. The Micro Certificates, which include the Teaching Online Essentials certificate and STEM Essentials certificate, captured the award in the Enterprise category.

The Awards of Excellence celebrate standout products in education technology and their contribution to educators across the country. Judged by tech-savvy educators with first-hand experience in the industry, products are evaluated on their uniqueness in the market, ability to help schools solve a problem, price value, and suitability for use.

NISE Micro Certificates and online courses are designed to meet educators’ needs for just-in-time, highly targeted professional development. Priced at $39, each three-hour course can be completed anytime, anywhere. Teachers who complete two courses in a specific area of practice earn a Micro Certificate.

Teaching Online Essentials includes eight online courses and four Micro Certificates that focus on how to implement evidence-based, hands-on strategies in the virtual classroom. STEM Essentials includes 12 online courses and six Micro Certificates that empower teachers to apply instructional strategies that are essential to creating and sustaining successful STEM learning in the classroom and distance learning. Both series are appropriate for educators of all grade levels and content areas.

“For over 40 years, Tech & Learning has reported on how edtech products are improving teaching and learning — and this has never been more important than during this unprecedented time,” said Tech & Learning Publisher and Content Director Christine Weiser. “For this year’s contest, our judges looked for stand-out products that are helping schools navigate these challenges by solving problems and driving innovation.”

Awards of Excellence winners will be recognized in the July/August 2020 digital issue of Tech & Learning magazine.
