AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Acessa Health Inc. announces the company’s national campaign supporting July as Fibroid Awareness Month, “Fibroids Are Loud. We’re Louder.” Featuring strategic partnerships with The Honey Pot Company and The White Dress Project, the companies aim to amplify the voices of women living with symptomatic fibroids. “Fibroids Are Loud. We’re Louder” coincides with Acessa Health’s third corporate anniversary and ongoing investment to drive awareness for this important women’s health issue.
Uterine fibroids can cause debilitating symptoms and disrupt the lives of many women. Yet, women suffer for 3.6 years before seeking care.1 Three years is far too long to suffer in silence. The “Fibroids Are Loud. We’re Louder” campaign highlights the community of physicians and patients who are committed to being louder than fibroids feel.
“This campaign demonstrates the mission the Acessa Health team pursues daily. The team strives to make positive contributions to the fibroid community by providing a platform for critical voices. Acessa is committed to give women more options. To achieve that vision, we must stay loud,” said Elaine Horton, Director of Marketing.
Brandi Neal, Acessa patient and fibroid advocate says, “Women’s health issues are not discussed broadly and there is a stigma associated with the many conditions affecting women, including uterine fibroids. There is still work to be done. I advocate on behalf of women with fibroids to ask questions, talk about symptoms, share experiences and make the time to take care of themselves.”
The July 2020 campaign launches amid a national conversation on racial healthcare disparities. Acessa, The Honey Pot, and The White Dress Project will use their platforms to shed light on alarming statistics around fibroids, including how they disproportionately affect black women.1 In June, USA Today featured Acessa Health and the Acessa Procedure in an article on the matter.
About Acessa Health, The Honey Pot Company, and The White Dress Project Partnership
This is the second time Acessa Health has partnered with The Honey Pot. In May 2020, Acessa and The Honey Pot donated feminine care products to women whose fibroid treatment procedures were cancelled due to COVID-19. The collaboration resulted in thousands of responses and was highlighted by Essence Magazine and Forbes. Linda Ripoll, Co-Founder at The Honey Pot Company, says, “We are proud of our partnership with Acessa Health to help the women in the fibroid community. We are humbled to provide our product to those who need it most.”
Acessa has also partnered with The White Dress Project since the company’s inception in 2017. The White Dress Project, promotes fibroid awareness, raises funds for fibroid research, and is responsible for the legislation declaring July Fibroid Awareness Month. Founder Tanika Gray says, “It is so important we share the stories and experiences of women who struggle with fibroids. We are grateful to have partners like Acessa who offer unwavering support and continue to advocate for those of us, within the fibroid community."
“We hope the campaign not only raises awareness, but empowers women living with fibroids. Fibroid Awareness Month is a perfect time to remind women that they must take their health seriously, advocate for themselves and pursue the best option for them,” says Courtney Schutze, who leads Brand at Acessa Health.
