Prescription Pet Medications Now Available at Publix Pharmacy

LAKELAND, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Publix Pharmacy is now filling prescriptions for pet medications in Florida. Available medications include treatments for common conditions, and most are eligible for delivery through ScriptDrop.

Available medication categories include

  • allergies
  • antibiotics
  • arthritis and anti-inflammatory
  • bronchitis
  • ear (antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antifungal)
  • endocrine (Addison’s Disease, Cushing’s Syndrome, diabetes and hypothyroidism)
  • heart failure
  • heartworm, flea and tick
  • motion sickness
  • dry eye and
  • seizures.

Pet medications are not covered by insurance. Medications ordered Sunday through Friday will be available for next day pickup.

Prescriptions — except those requiring refrigeration — are also available for home delivery within a 5-mile radius of each in-store Florida Publix Pharmacy for a $5 fee. Customers who receive a text message when prescriptions are ready will receive a link to prepay for their prescriptions and choose delivery.

Customers wishing to transfer their pet prescriptions should call their nearest Publix Pharmacy or visit publix.com/petmeds. Prescription transfers cannot be initiated through the ScriptDrop delivery service.
