American Water’s Cheryl Norton to Participate in U.S. Conference of Mayors, Mayors Water Council Panel

CAMDEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American Water (NYSE:AWK), the nation’s largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company, announced today that Cheryl Norton, senior vice president, Chief Environmental Officer & president of New Jersey American Water, will be speaking at the United States Conference of Mayors, Mayors Water Council. The virtual meeting will take place on Friday, June 12th at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

Norton will participate on a panel speaking about the impacts of the COVID 19 public health emergency on water and sewer utilities in the United States. During her discussion, she will emphasize American Water’s three response focus areas during the recent public health emergency:

  • The care and safety of its employees
  • The safety of its customers and the communities it serves
  • The execution of its business continuity plans

She will also touch on the importance of maintaining proactive communications with elected officials, regulators, customers and employees.
