Missouri American Water Replacing Aged Water Main on Hanley Industrial Ct. in Brentwood

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Missouri American Water is replacing a water main with a history of breaks in an industrial area of Brentwood.

Hanley Industrial Court in Brentwood will see more than 3,300 feet of water main from the 1960s replaced and upsized during a recently begun project. Cast iron main that is 8 inches in diameter will be replaced by 12-inch ductile iron main in a project expected to be completed in June.

“As the St. Louis and Missouri economies continue to deal with the effects of the ongoing health emergency, it is critical that businesses are able depend on the delivery of safe, clean, reliable water service,” said Debbie Dewey, President of Missouri American Water. “We are continuing our planned system investments, like this important pipe replacement project in Hanley Industrial Court, to enhance reliability so water is available when our customers need it.”

The Hanley Industrial Ct. project is part of Missouri American Water’s projected $92 million capital investment in water main replacements in St. Louis County in 2020. Already in 2020 the company has replaced more than 30 miles of water main in St. Louis County.
