Carbyne Announces Board Changes

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to Step Down as Director

CEO Amir Elichai to Assume Role of Chairman

NEW YORK--()--Carbyne, the global leader in Next Generation technologies and innovation for public safety domains, today announced that former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak will step down from the Board, effective May 1st. Mr. Barak has served as Chairman of Carbyne since 2015, helping steer the company through multiple funding rounds and the expansion of its technology into several new countries.

Mr. Barak was instrumental in helping Carbyne grow from its early stages into the global technology company that it is today,” said Carbyne CEO and Founder Amir Elichai. “Carbyne and its expanding list of government and private-sector partners have benefited greatly from his vision and dedication. We thank him for his impact on the business and wish him the best of luck with his other initiatives.”

Mr. Elichai continued, “We expect additional changes to the Board’s composition in the future to reflect Carbyne’s increasingly global scope, with a particular focus on the U.S. and European markets, as well as to further align our company with best-in-class corporate governance practices.”

It’s been a privilege and honor to lend my knowledge and experience to Carbyne during its early growth phases,” said Mr. Barak. “I’m extremely proud of what the company has been able to accomplish and of working with this group of young leaders to revolutionize the emergency communications industry – while saving lives in the process. After nearly six years involved with Carbyne, it is time for me to focus on my other endeavors.”

Mr. Elichai, who is based in New York, will assume the role of Chairman of the Board following Mr. Barak’s departure. In addition to Mr. Barak's resignation from the Board, all shares owned by Mr. Barak’s Sum (E.B) LLP are being moved to IBI and will be sold in the coming weeks to a new investor who has been identified.
