Accelerate Learning Introduces STEMscopes Coding

With STEMscopes Coding, educators can bring coding into every classroom — with no prior coding experience required

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Accelerate Learning announces the national release of its first coding program, STEMscopes™ Coding. Powered by Bitsbox, STEMscopes Coding walks students and teachers through the process of creating and sharing digital apps. The new program for grades 3-8 is now available to educators nationwide.

STEMscopes Coding teaches students how to design and build apps to share on any device. Unlike other coding programs that simulate the process with block-based learning, STEMscopes Coding allows students to type their JavaScript code for a hands-on, personalized experience. They can create their own games, simulations, and storytelling apps with graphics, animation, interactivity, and sound.

STEMscopes Coding features three types of projects: App, How Do I, and Challenge. App projects provide an example of the code while students follow along. How Do I projects walk students through a task, and Challenge projects allow them to use their newly learned knowledge to write their own code. All projects are open-ended and include standards-aligned lessons for computer science, science, English language arts, or math.
