Philadelphia Wins Bring Home Bojangles Bracket Challenge

Bojangles Food Truck to Visit Later This Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bojangles, known for its flavorful chicken, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits and Legendary Iced Tea®, today crowned Philadelphia the champion of its first-ever Bring Home Bojangles Bracket Challenge. The City of Brotherly Love beat out 15 other Bojangles-less cities for the win, landing them a visit from the Southern chain’s food truck later this year.

“This past month has been filled with uncertainty, and our focus has been helping our communities stay strong, and we hope our Bring Home Bojangles Bracket Challenge was able to provide a temporary bit of joy and relief as fans voted for their favorite cities in the bracket,” said Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer for Bojangles.

The path to victory was no small feat. Philadelphia tipped off against Las Vegas in the first round and out lasted Miami in the second round. Philadelphia schooled New Orleans in the third round and barely snaked by Cincinnati on a buzzer beater, winning by just 4% of the votes in the final round.

When the food truck arrives in Philly, it will provide free food for a limited time. The team will also be serving other Bojangles’ signature menu items including Chicken Supremes®, Seasoned Fries and Legendary Iced Tea®.

“We had so much fun watching all of the cities duke it out for the chance to win our perfectly seasoned chicken and made-from-scratch biscuits,” said Woodward. “When the clock hit zero, Philadelphia was the last one standing, and we look forward to rewarding them with our food truck when the time is right later this year.”

Other cities that competed in the bracket challenge, included, Boston; Chicago; Cincinnati; Dallas; Denver; Houston; Indianapolis; Las Vegas; Little Rock, Ark.; Miami; New Orleans; New York City; St. Louis; San Francisco; and Tulsa, Okla.

In addition to Philadelphia winning a visit from the Bojangles food truck, four fans also won $1,000 and Bojangles swag bags for voting in the bracket challenge.
